One of the numerous Myeong Dong streets
.
Since today I have more leisure time, we get to eat more things. First the famous Myeong Dong fish cake. I am sure they call it differently but since I can't read those legos, it's called Myeong Dong fish cake until I know the real name. The queue to this fish cake is even longer than the Sotong bakar. This fish cake is special because 1. they roll the fish cake on the spot 2. they attach a big mint leaf on it. 3. They lightly fried it. So you have a fish cake that is slighly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, juice still intact. I am no chef but I can tell you, it takes very good timing to ensure the outside is crisp and maintain the juice inside. It's like cooking those runny eggs you eat with ramen.
I like it so much I ta pau 2 home but it soften and taste like steamboat fish cake.
Although I have already mentioned the Myeong Dong sotong, I didn't mention it has 2 brothers, the fFsh and the Octupus. Never tried both and don't think I would try it either cause everyone that queued just order the sotong. I also had a better view and besides butter they actually put in peanut butter. No wonder it's the best Sotong in the whole of Myeong Dong. Also memorise the way to this shop from train exit.
The less famous brothers
.
If you are feeling quite full for the above, you can also eat the cinnamon crispy biscuit. No, it's not the Myeong Dong famous crispy biscuit. There is no such thing. My colleague recommends cause she like to eat. It's for the sweet tooth cause it cinammon sugar inside. It reminds of the food ration that one packed in the olden days when they go for long journey. The uncle also made it on the spot so it's hot and crispy and from far you can actually smell it. I did not memorize the route cause I can just follow the smell from the train exit. Yum!
It also looked like roti canai/prata
Then we walk to Nandaemon. From Myeong Dong to Nandaemon takes about 10 minutes. It's another tourist attraction as in Nandaemon - endless shopping streets and a shopping centre- Shinsagae. Next time I will show you the tasty food court in basement. Every time I go there sure will stop by the food court.....mmm.. actually it's the only place I go everytime I am there.. ah~ paiseh. Anyway the reason for the walk to Nandaemon is the below Korean pancake. We waited the longest for this pancake. This is the famous Nandaemon pancake. I noticed they even translated the Japanese equivalent - ホットク。If you saw the oil this pancake is cooked in, you heart will immediately stop and you will keel over right in front of the store. It's not the food to eat everyday. There are 2 fillings, 'tong fun' with vegie or red bean. I think the thing that make this pancake the best among all pancakes in Nandaemon is the sauce they coat on the pancake after it's cook. Makes the pancake taste totally different.

Hot, hot, hot!!
At the end of the day while walking back from Nandaemon and passing by Myeong Dong again, I saw this. OMG it is sooooooooo cute, I don't know if the guy/girl did this pose on purpose or he/she was tired and resting. Anyway, unable to resist- I went and take a photo with it. After I took a photo, all the other Mei meis standing at the perimeter start crowding around it trying to whore it and take photo. *roll eyes. I can imagine how Nite and Moo felt in Disneyland. I suspect it's a guy inside the suit too as it happily hug all the mei meis.

Garfield in Korea
Walking back, my colleague mentioned again the river that you can walk when you are bored and have nothing to do. I had to take a picture. Of all ways to introduce a leisure place....
The start of a 5km journey
All it all, it took the whole day and we have only scratched the surface. Never mind, shall wait for Cousin Rain. I think she will have a blast time browsing the streets while I am slaving away on my desk. . Next I shall attempt the palace also 15 minutes from the apartment.
